Full Day Excursion – Lacock Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum & Village (NT)
A visit to the historic Lacock Abbey and Village is taken en route to our holiday hotel at Wells. Set in rural Wiltshire, the village is famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and more recently as a TV and film location. The village’s most famous appearances include Downton Abbey, the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice, Cranford, and the films Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The Abbey is located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds and is a quirky country house built upon the foundations of a former nunnery. Packed full of history, the Abbey was originally an abbey and nunnery, then became a Tudor family home, and is also known as the birthplace of photography as William Fox Talbot took the first photographic negative at his home there. The Fox Talbot Museum celebrates the achievements of Fox Talbot and his contribution to the invention of photography. We can enjoy exploring the village and its shops, the Abbey and its rooms and take a walk in the Abbey grounds, garden and greenhouse.

Free Day – Wells – The Smallest City in England
After breakfast this morning, we will meet our guide outside our hotel for a walking tour of Wells. We will learn about the history of Wells Cathedral, the famous 14th Century astronomical clock, The Bishop’s Palace, the town crier and the remarkable Vicars’ Close.
We can then enjoy lunch in one of the numerous cafés. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore the many interesting sites which our guide has introduced to us.

Full Day Excursion – Today we pay a visit to the extraordinary and unique Longleat Estate. Widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain, set within 900 acres of stunning ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland, Longleat House was the first stately home to fully open its doors to the public back in 1949. After a tour exploring the extraordinary history, we embark upon a safari and track down some of the world’s most
incredible animals. Today, the park is home to over a thousand animals.

Full Day Excursion – NEW! Being Brunel & Brunel’s SS Great Britain
A major new visitor experience Being Brunel will centre on an exciting new national museum and visitor experience. Visitors will be invited to step into the mind of Isambard Kingdom Brunel as he is brought vividly to life with never-before-seen personal possessions, documents and artefacts.

The world’s first great ocean liner is fully accessible and the winner of more than 30 tourism awards. Be sure to head beneath the glass sea, walk through the history of the SS Great Britain in the Dockyard Museum and step onto the ship itself.
