Full Day Excursion – with free time in Newcastle to explore the city’s many attractions. Afterwards we meet at the Quayside to embark on a 2 hour “Quay to Countryside” cruise, sailing to Ryton Willows Nature Reserve and Newburn Countryside Park, travelling under eleven of the Tyne’s bridges.
Full Day Excursion – we visit Durham’s World Heritage Site. Experience one of the finest surviving examples of Romanesque architecture at the beautiful Durham Cathedral, where the breathtaking vaulted ceiling soars skyward like the choristers’ voices. Not to be missed is its new Open Treasure experience which gives visitors access to previously hidden spaces within the Cathedral’s magnificent Claustral buildings. Durham is a compact city to wander around and we can enjoy exploring its winding cobbled streets, dramatic architecture and fantastic visitor attractions.
Full Day Excursion – We have time to explore the seaside town of Whitby with its narrow cobbled streets, museums and picturesque harbour and perhaps shop for Whitby jet before enjoying lunch in one of the numerous cafés or pubs. If time allows an afternoon visit to Shildon to take in the National Railway Museum. The museum exhibits the history of rail travel from the 19th century to the present day.
We sometimes make changes to journeys and excursion in response to adverse weather conditions, road repairs, road congestion and other local factors. In these circumstances the driver/company will exercise discretion reasonably having all due consideration to the relevant factors and as a result there may be changes to the planned journey.
